Primary night is over and now the race for November begins. Three races were decided on Tuesday, although there were four on the ballot.

In the US Senate race, to replace Senator Bennett, candidate Mike Lee barely edged out opponent Tim Bridgewater. The overall results were, with 99.2% of the precincts reporting, Mike Lee had 92,553 votes (51.1%) vs Tim Bridgewater at 88,572 votes (48.9%). In Morgan County Lee received 401 votes to Bridgewater's 528.

In the state house of representatives race, incumbent Mel Brown will move forward to the November election. Brown won 1,558 votes (55.01%) vs Jon Hellander at 1,274 votes (44.99%). The Morgan County vote tallies were Brown 332 and Hellander 590. Brown received his strongest support in Summit County, the county where both candidates live, where he received 64% of the vote. Brown also received 68% of the vote in Rich and Daggett counties. Wasatch County was more evenly split.

In the three way choice for Council At Large A, the race was very tight. Amy Clark lost by only five votes. Clark received 368 votes, Robert Kilmer received 373, and Larry Hatch garnered 444 votes. Kilmer and Hatch will now face off in the November election.

In the County Council at Large B race, Jeremy Barker and Ned Mecham will continue on to November, but the polling shows Mecham with a healthy lead in the primary. Mecham received 882 to Barker's 249 votes.
